TV Show Recommendations (for all genres)

Hello Lovelies,
In this post, this time, my loves, (from high demand/request) I will be listing all my TV show recommendations and information. Most of these TV shows are on-going, some are completed. I will list how many seasons to date these shows have also and a small review of my thoughts. Hope you enjoy and find something to watch!

CRIME SHOWS:

1. Criminal Minds
Rating out of /5: 4.5
Number of current seasons: 11
Status: On-going
Info: This show is about a select team within the FBI called the Behavioural Analysis Unit and this team profiles criminals (typically serial killers, but it does range) and solve crimes. Each episode, a new crime is in question and the writing is great. The crimes are realistic and solvable, but also creepy and alluring and make you want to watch to see what happens. I have adored this show for years and I'm still watching eleven seasons later!

2. Quantico
Rating of /5: 3-4
Number of current seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: This show is about a bunch of FBI recruits who are going through the process of Quantico. The show splits between the past (the trainees doing the training to become agents) and the future, where a terrorist attack has launched and our main character has been framed. I really do like this show. It's got diverse characters (the first TV show I've watched where the main character is Indian) and has a really good plot line.

3. Scorpion
Rating out of /5: 3.5-4
Number of current seasons: 2
Status: On-going
Info: This show centres around a team of genius' who solve high profile crimes around the US and the world. They are handled by a homeland agent and it's about the characters finding out how to be 'normal' (in terms of the fact that their ability to feel or relate to others is harder as their brains are going 6000 miles per hour) and how their intellect can solve crimes. This show is good to make you think and you will always be wowed by the solution!

4. Blindspot
Rating out of /5: 5
Number of current seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: This is one of my favourite shows. It's about a girl who is found in the middle of times square in a bag that is labelled for the FBI to open. Presumably, they think it's a bomb, but out pops this woman who is covered (literally) head to toe in new tattoos and has literally NO IDEA who on earth she is and how she got there. The FBI work both to solve the mystery of who she is whilst realising that every tattoo on this woman's body leads to an upcoming crime. I adore this show. I love the cast and I think it's very mysterious and interesting. I'd defo recommend.

5. Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder
Rating out of /5: 4.5-5 (for both)
Number of current seasons: Scandal: 5 HTGAWM: 2
Status: On-going (both)
Info: Both of these shows are a lawyer based so it does involve crime. I loved them both to death, literally. They are interesting and intriguing and suggest arguments and points I wouldn't have thought of making.
Scandal is based more politically around a woman who is known for being a fixer. She is currently working with the President. It's about herself, her small team and the white house. I love it.
HTGAWM is about a woman who is known for being a ruthless and a streak of winning cases lawyer who takes on five students to work at her practice with her. Many, (many) things occur here that suggest that the five students and the lawyer get tangled up into some messy murder business. It's my fave show currently.

6. Thirteen
Rating out of /5: 5
Number of current seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: This show aired on BBC three for you British lot, but it is coming to BBC America I believe very soon. This show is great. It's about a girl called Ivy who went missing 13 years ago and then 13 years later, escapes. It's her story about what happened, the mystery behind some of her stories and her kidnapper after her. It's my new fave!!

DRAMA SHOWS:
Pretty much every show I watch is a drama show one way or another, but this is more of a specific list.

1. The Fosters
Rating out of /5: 4
Number of current seasons: 3
Status: On-going
Info: If you are looking for a great, realistic and diverse TV show this is it. The Fosters is about a family with two parents who are both females. They have adopted children and one of the mom's previously had her own child in a different marriage. This family stumbles upon Callie and Jude who are in foster care and it's about both families journey in coming together and understanding love starts with family,

2. Recovery Road
Rating out of /5: 4
Number of current seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: This show is great. It deals with a girl who is (17) and has an alcohol addiction. As she is a minor, she is 'forced' to live in this house with a bunch of others who have different issues with sobriety and she has to learn how to cope without the alcohol and learn to deal with things head on. It's a really, really good show pack full of romance and interesting scenarios.

3. Chicago Med
Rating out of /5: 3-4
Number of current seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: This is a spin-off of Chicago Pd & Fire, however, you DON'T need to have watched these shows to watch this. It has its own storyline and is great for drama. It's obviously about a hospital with a bunch of different doctors and patients and their lives. It's one of my fave hospital shows.

4. Bates Motel
Rating out of /5: 5
Number of current seasons: 4
Status: On-going
Info; Well holy hell if you love Drama/thrillers, you'll love this. This show is based on the Hitchcock movies about Norman Bates as a teenager. It's great. It shows what he was like before the movie and the type of environment he grew up in. It makes you question yourself by knowing all of this stuff that is he truly evil? I have loved this show since it first came out!

FANTASY/SCI-FI/POST-APOCOLPTIC SHOWS:

1. The Vampire Diaries and The Originals
Rating out of /5: 4.5-5 (both)
Number of seasons: 7 (TVD) and 3 (TO)
Status: On-going
Info: I put these two together as TO is a spinoff of TVD so it's only fitting. Some history for y'all here, TVD was the first American show I watched and loved! I have watched from the very start and still love it to this day. TO is a great spinoff of this show and has its own plot line. I love them both.

2. The 100
Rating out of /5: 5
Number of seasons: 3
Status: On-going
Info: I feel like this show is underrated for what it is. Nobody talks much about it, but it's freaking amazing. I adore, adore, adore the characters (it's a very character-driven show) and the story line is unique. It's about a group of a hundred delinquent teenagers being sent to earth which was previously considered inhabitable due to their space station in space running out of oxygen. It's fantastic. The characters are all unique and fun and the dynamics they face are so interesting.

3. Lucifer
Rating out of /5: 4.5
Number of seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: This is a fairly new show, but I LOVE IT. It's about a guy who is obviously the devil. But he's got bored, so he decides to leave hell (much to everyone's dismay) and he works together with this detective who is immune to his devilishly handsome charms.

4. Shadowhunters
Rating out of /5: 4
Number of seasons: 1
Status: On-going
Info: Calling all Mortal Instruments fans. Please get over the first two cringy episodes and I promise the acting and storyline picks up. I have grown to love it. I think the characters are growing into the characters I've imagined (particularly Simon and Alec) and I think that overall if you are a fan of the books - you'll like the show.

5. Once Upon a Time
Rating out of /5: 3-4
Number of seasons: 5
Status: On-going
Info: Well hello all of you fairytale fans. This show has it all. From snow white to beauty and the beast to Hansel and Gretel and red riding hood. If you love fairytales, you'll love them coming to life. It focuses on a girl, Emma, who all her life has presumed her parents gave her up. Much to her sudden confusion, that's not even the half of it.

Enjoy - Happy Watching!

  1. How can you say that The 100 isn't talked about? IT'S EVERYWHERE. Except maybe Wattpad. BUT IT'S EVERYWHERE ELSEWHERE. Tumblr? TOO MANY. Twitter? TOO MANY. Pinterest? A LOT.
Shadowhunters is the kind of show where it really depends on what kind of person you are - I can't really describe it, but I like the show! I can totally see why people don't like it (the scripting in the first episodes - BLEH), but it's all very nostalgic for me because TMI was a good series!
I think that you should watch Stitchers (another show on Freeform), because I watch pretty much the same shows as you (HTGAWM, crime, etc.), and I love Stitchers! THE CHARACTERS ARE SO COOL. ANYWAY. I like your blog!
